When I decided to build a fly rod for my niece's birthday, I asked Stan Grace for a bit of advice.

Stan; I never did ask what material the white is on the tip of the grip? Is it antler?? Elk?

The wood is Rocky Mountain Juniper. A scrub species that grows through out much of the West. Beside being colorful it is slow growing and fairly stable. It is dense soft wood and is relatively light in weight.

Putter Wow! now I see what you mean, Stan great work, didn't know there was wart hogs in the US, sure it wasn't some ugly hunter walking around the in the scrub. Again Stan great job, and Putter all the hard work was done for you, that's cheating.
